
Draw Near with Confidence

Raise your hand if your childhood, biblical hero was Esther! I am raising mine high! I loved the story from start to finish! The bravery and critical thinking that Queen Esther showed was always an inspiration.
Although, there is one aspect of the story that has always stood out to me above the rest. That moment is when the queen boldly walks into the King’s court, knowing that He could choose to kill or dismiss her. King Ahasherus was known to be an alcoholic and unreliable. The queen had no idea what she was walking into but she went anyway.
“And when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she won favor in his sight, and he held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter. And the king said to her, “What is it, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given you, even to the half of my kingdom.”
Esther 5:2-3
This scene has always stood out to me because when I look at Hebrews 4:16 I see the complete opposite when I am encouraged to go before the King of kings, Jesus Christ.
