Peace Like No Other
Psalm 119:165 says, “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.”
Do you ever feel like you are bouncing around like a marble in a pinball machine? Life is crazy, anxiety swirls, and peace is only a distant dream, am I right? Here are 4 ways you can seek to find spiritual peace!
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
+ Prayer
Philippians 4 is a key passage to remind us that we can cast all of our cares on the Savior and exchange them for peace! Peace literally means to have freedom from disturbances. What is rocking your emotional boat right now? Jesus is simply saying “peace, be still” to those turbulent emotions or situations. Prayer takes our eyes off our worries and back on our Rock. Some times it is hard to even know how to pray! Jesus gives us the perfect model in Matthew 6 (Check out these 6 Easy Steps to Prayer).
+ Obedience
I love what Jesus says in John 15:14, “You are my friends if you do what I command you.” What a simple and beautiful statement. We trust our friends and therefore this analogy is easy to grasp. We obey His Word because we trust Him. What do you need to be obedient in today? Are you fearful and riddled with anxiety? Maybe you are in a toxic friendship, what would it look like to take a step back and not yoke yourself to influences that do not push you to holiness? Whatever it is, evaluate the source of your disruption and ask the Lord if there is something He needs you to be obedient in.
+ Faith
Hebrews 11:1 gives us the perfect definition of faith, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” We have faith because we trust God – His character and His promises. We trust that what He says will happen and that He desires good things for us. Take a minute and evaluate your heart condition, are there things you are holding back from God? Are there things that you need to release you grip on and trust Him for the outcome? If you trust His goodness, then let go and let Him work it all out.
+ Community
The last step to spiritual peace is community! Gosh, I love this (I’m serious! Read about it here)! We can find peace by surrounding ourselves with those who love the Lord and point us to Him in our weak moments. If you don’t have this kind of community, I IMPLORE you to go outside of your comfort zone to find it! We need people beside us in this race! Just this last weekend I went back home and got to meet up with some of my favorite girlfriends! We talked for hours about the Lord and prayed together in the middle of a restaurant! It was so soothing for my soul and I left feeling like I could just bubble over! Don’t do this life alone, Satan wins if you buy into the lie that you don’t need others! Community is a life-raft to the sinking soul!
His peace is like NOTHING this world has to offer! Don’t settle for counterfeits and put in the effort to live in abundant peace!
The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

Yes, this is so good! Community isn’t one I think about frequently, but how true it is. I love this: “We can find peace by surrounding ourselves with those who love the Lord and point us to Him in our weak moments.” Amen!! Thankful for the people who always point me back to Jesus <3

I wrote a similar post not long ago…the need for God and community amongst the chaos of our lives. You touched on four great points that will help to bring peace in a world of chaos. Wonderful reminders!
